North Bergen, NJ Housing Market Trends

With 60,235 people, 23,959 houses or apartments, and a median cost of homes of $640,111, real estate costs in North Bergen are among some of the highest in the nation, although house prices here don't compare to real estate prices in the most expensive New Jersey communities.

Large apartment complexes or high rise apartments are the single most common housing type in North Bergen, accounting for 42.82% of the township's housing units. Other types of housing that are prevalent in North Bergen include duplexes, homes converted to apartments or other small apartment buildings ( 32.94%), single-family detached homes ( 18.30%), and a few row houses and other attached homes ( 5.92%). Townships that are predominantly high-density buildings are relatively uncommon in the US.
